Thanks to formation of the new state of Telangana, the offset printers in the ten districts have come under one umbrella and formed the Telangana Offset Printers Association (TOPA). Hyderabad and Secunderabad share the highest density of printing industry while small to medium presses are scattered few and far in the remaining nine districts. In pre bifurcation scenario, the next biggest printing industry segment used to be in Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam. By virtue of Hyderabad being the capital, hundreds of crores of rupees were invested in establishing reputed presses catering to printing and packaging sectors. While most of the reputed press owners originally hail from places other than Telangana, the fact remains that having settled here they very much belong to Telangana. It is with this philosophy that the TOPA has put no restrictions for membership irrespective of where the owners have come from. There are presses owned by people of the now bifurcated state of Andhra Pradesh as well as Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Karnataka to cite a few examples.
TOPA welcomes one and all into its fold so that all the problems faced by these printers can be brought under common platform so as to enable the Government to solve them in all earnestness.
